Neil Allen Felder, 61, of Oldsmar, Florida, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013, in Naples, Florida. Neil was born June 8, 1951 in Elkhart, Indiana to Earnest Felder and Marion Schooley Felder. Neil enlisted in the U.S. Army
at the age of 17. After training he was stationed at Ft. Rucker, until he was 18 years old and then was sent to Viet Nam where he served as a helicopter crewman before becoming a MP. When Neil returned stateside, he continued with the MP's, first at Fort Snelling, Minn. and Selfridge AFB, Mich. before being sent to Sieglesbach, Germany. His military career continued with duty assignments at Fort McClellan; a return to Sieglesbach, Germany; Fort Hood, Texas; and his final assignment back at Fort McClellan. After his retirement from the U.S. Army, as a Sergeant 1st Class, he moved to Oldsmar, Fla. and went to work for the U.S. Postal Service where he worked until he retired in 2007. Neil spent his retirement years traveling, visiting family and spending time with his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grand-daughters. Neil is preceded in death by his father, Earnest Felder; his mother, Marion Schooley Felder Spake; and brothers, Michael Felder and Roger Felder. Neil is survived by daughters, Nicole Felder Jackmack (Jeff), of Naples, Fla. and Megan Felder Moses (Michael), of Ohatchee; grandchildren, NaTasha Turley Lillebo (Jonathan), Nicholas Holifield, Alexander Holifield, Evan, Kaylee, and Eric Moses; great-granddaughters, Anna, Madison, and Emma Lillebo; Brothers - Ernie Felder, of Warner, Okla. and Edward Felder of Au Gres, Mich.; aunts, Audrey Slater, of Warner, Okla. and Ruth Felder, of Shipshewana, Ind.; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of his life and internment with full military honors will be held in Michigan at a later date.
