Nellie Brown

BROWN Saks - Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013, at First Baptist Church, of Saks, for Nellie Brown, of Saks, who died on October 10, 2013. Dr. Randy Postell will officiate. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct. She was a Sunday School Teacher and choir member at First Baptist Church of Saks. She was also a retired nurse and a previous member of Saks Garden Club as well as an avid gardener. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Brown; parents, Joseph and Myrtle Golden; a sister, Marie Sharp; a brother, J.D. Golden, and a sister Ruby McClellan. She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Rodney) Clark and Michele (Stephen) Horton; grandchildren, Dustin (Lauren) Clark, Amber Clark, Matthew Horton and Seth Horton; great-grandchild, Emma James Clark, and a sister, Nancy Shoemaker. Pallbearers will be friends and family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Saks Building Fund. Special thanks to her church family and her caretakers for being there when she needed them. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service at the First Baptist Church of Saks.
