Samuel Jerry Mays

Funeral services for Mr. Samuel Jerry Mays, 69, of Anniston, will be Monday, July 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Minister Garrett Best officiating and burial following at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Adamsville. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 7, 2013, from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Mays passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Mays is survived by his wife, Judy Mays; sons, Stephen (Allison) Mays, Zachary (Nyna) Mays; sisters, Betty Patton, Nancy Blankensopp, Brenda Mays; brothers, Jim (Sarah) Mays, Jack Mays, Herman (Fay) Mays; grandchildren, Ivy Montgomery and Alex Mays. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mr. Mays was a native of Carbon Hill where he graduated from Carbon Hill High School; he also attended Jacksonville State University and Jefferson State University. Mr. Mays was a member of the Lion's Club; he was a Deacon and Elder at Decatur Highway Church of Christ in Gardendale, member of the Alabama Power Energizers Club and a member of Jacksonville Church of Christ.
