Violet Elizabeth Bowers Holland

Anniston - Funeral services for Mrs. Violet Elizabeth Bowers Holland, 48, of Anniston, will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Oxford with the Reverend Justin Holland, the Reverend Christina Shaver, Elbert Lewis, and Bob Prichard officiating. Interment will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening at the church. Mrs. Holland passed away on October 14, 2013 at Trinity Medical Center. Mrs. Holland was a native of Dayton, Ohio. She was a 1983 graduate of Trotwood Madison High School in Trotwood, Ohio. She later attended Dayton Business College and worked in restaurant management for many years. She worked for the OC at the Anniston Army Depot for the past eight years. She was a past member of Gladeview Baptist Church. She was currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Oxford and for the last three years, she served in the nursery. She loved dressing up and waving at people on holidays. Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Tisdale and Lena Elizabeth Mondabaugh Bowers; her sisters and brother-in-law, Debbie and William Shaver, and Cheryl Bowers Mondabaugh Jennings. Mrs. Holland is survived by her husband, Steve Holland of Anniston; a sister, Charlene Bowers Bright and her husband, Charles, of Eastaboga; her mother-in-law, Frances Farmer Holland Roper; a brother-in-law, Jamie Holland; a sister-in-law, Dawn McMichael and her husband, Johnny; her nieces, Kristin Bright Johnson, Kammie Bright Stringer, April Audet; her nephews, Ernest and Greg Mondabaugh, Jonathan Shaver, and Mark Rivera; and several great-nieces and great- nephews. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Shaver, Mark Rivera, Jamie Holland, Brett Hyde, Jonathan McMichael, and Adam McMichael. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest and Greg Mondabaugh. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Building Fund at the First Baptist Church of Oxford, 95 East Oak Street, Oxford, AL 36203.
