Wendy Ann Mayne

Jacksonville - Funeral service for Wendy Ann Mayne, 54, will be Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville with Dr. Derek Staples and the Rev. David Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center and at the church for one hour prior to services. Mrs. Mayne went home into the loving arms of her Savior on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. She is survived by her loving husband, Lewis Marlon Mayne, of Jacksonville; two daughters, Kimberlie Marie Figueroa and her husband, Marco, of Woodstock, Ga. and Amy Mae Mayne, of Jacksonville; a stepson, Jason Marlon Mayne, of Folsom, Calif.; two sisters, Cheryl Scott and Patty Weigert, both of Hudson Valley, N.Y.; three brothers, Thomas Nelson, Jimmy Nelson and David Nelson, all of Newburgh, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Evan Figueroa, Natalie Figueroa and Tyler Mayne; an aunt and uncle, Charles and Doris Reynolds; a best friend since first grade, Shirley Eager, of Hudson Valley, N.Y. and many brothers and sisters in Christ. Pallbearers will be Vincent Palestro, Tracey Blount, Tommy Nelson, Jimmy Nelson, David Nelson and Scott Curvin. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Perry, Jay Monroe, Tyler Currier, Sid Dearman, Bob Crossley, Charles Reynolds and Evan Figueroa. Wendy was born on December 13, 1958 in Newburgh, New York where she met and married her soul mate and best friend. To meet Wendy was to love her. She served the Lord Jesus Christ with passion and perseverance and longed for the day she would be with Jesus. She was food service manager at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and was a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church where she reached others for Christ, through outreach. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Eugene and Barbara Ann Nelson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to defray funeral expenses.
