Mr. Wesley L. Parris passed away on February 10, 2016 after a long illness. Mr. Parris is survived by three children, Johnny Parris, of Jacksonville, Myra Parris, of Atlanta, Ga. and Scott Parris (Laura), of Piedmont; eight grandchildren, Kent Wheeler, Wesley Wheeler, Lauren Wehner, Wesley Parris, William (Billy) Parris, Audrey Parris, Isaac Parris and Olivia Parris; one great-grandson, Samuel Parris; five sisters, Vanner Uesry, Audrey Vice, Carolyn Easterwood, Irene Morris and Sandra Parris; one brother, Sidney Parris, and his companion for the past several years of his life, Ms. Deborah Stallings. Mr. Parris was preceded in death by his wife, Lorna Parris; his father, Lee Parris; mother, Ellen Parris; sisters, Betty Wheeler, Venita Bryant and Doris Hicks; brothers, Burl Parris and Delbert Parris. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Piedmont with the Rev. Alton Parris officiating. Burial will follow at Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Wesley Parris, Billy Parris, Keith Parris, Jeff Ford, Marlon Stallings and Micah Stallings. Honorary pallbearer will be Bennie Uesry. Mr. Parris was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and was a beloved father and grandfather. Mr. Parris was a minister for much of his life and will probably be best remembered for his love or training hunting dogs and spending time with his family and friends hunting. www.thompsonfuneralhomepiedmont.com
