Bill was a wonderful neighbor! Our children loved him and he and Lois always brought them a surprise from whatever excursion they were on. My kids favorites were when Bill and Lois brought green eggs!! another was the Easter pasta. Then he gave Fennelle and Brianna a pogo stick from his garage. My son Anthony always took out and brought in his trash cans . He would have that cigar in his mouth but he never lit it. They say you can see a persons soul in their eyes. Bill had a beautiful soul as did Lois. May God Grant him eternal rest . Rest In Peace Bill! We love you. Alma Guevara

My condolences to the family. I have memories of him as a child. Mr. and Mrs. Hughes were our neighbors on Palo Grande. Always chewing on a cigar and waved hello everyday when I checked the mail. One Halloween he even had us bob for apples. Such a kind gentleman who always took the time to say hello. I'm glad to have known him and have him part of my childhood memories.

Mr. Hughes, I'm so sad to hear you have passed but I know in my heart that you are in an even better place making people smile probably biting down on those stogies you loved. I remember growing up in shady oaks as your next door neighbor and you were always so sweet and friendly to my sister,my brother and I. I will never forget how you were always the first in line at our lemonade stands in the summer and hot chocolate stands in the winter, and the fudge you would bring over during Christmas time. Oh and how can i forget the bobbing for apples from a tree during Halloween! You were truely part of best memories I had growing up next door to you! I wish now that I'm older we could have had a chance to talk because it sounds like your life was amazing but I'm just glad I got the chance to know the little parts that I did and I will treasure those memories forever. God bless , you will be sincerely missed! Love, your neighbor on Palo Grande.
