Lincoln - Funeral services for Derrick LaWayne Pearson, 36, will be on Friday, October 11, 2013, at 1 p.m. at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Everette B. Kelley officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Church cemetery. Mr. Pearson remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his services. Mr. Pearson died on October 7, 2013. Mr. Pearson graduated from Lincoln High School in 1995. He earned an associate's degree in welding from Ayers State Technical College. He was a member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church. He served our country in the U.S. Navy and received the distinguished National Defense Service Medal. Survivors include his parents, Omega and Eula M. Pearson of Lincoln; his children, Miracle Carter, Eziyah Carter both of Oxford, Marrequis Montgomery, and KaDerrion Embry both of Lincoln; brothers, Mickey L. (Erica) Pearson of Elizabethtown, Ky. and Darrell L. (Angela) Pearson of Lincoln; grandmother, Luella (Walter) Smith of Lincoln; aunts, uncles, a host of other relatives and friends.
