Funeral service for Mr. Edmond Lewis Donaldson, 90, of Oxford, will be Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home and Crematory with Preacher Joe Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Borden Springs Church of Christ. Visitation will be today, March 18, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home. Mr. Donaldson passed on March 16, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by children, Evelyn D. Hunt (Roy), Judy D. Jones, Kaye D. Johnson (Gary) and Mark Edward Donaldson (Cindy); 13 grandchildren; 24 great- grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Donaldson is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lila Mae Bonds Donaldson; children, Dorothy LeCroy, Kathy Payton and Ray Donaldson; parents, James and Susie Donaldson; five brothers and four sisters. Pallbearers will be Brandon Johnson, Don Rollins, Trace Edwards, Nathan Donaldson and RJ Dennis. Honorary pallbearers will be Dalton White, Sean Gaddy and Trey Rollins. Mr. Donaldson was born in Centre, Ala. on December, 23, 1923. He was in Artillery Automatic Weapon Battalion Battery C 483rd Antiaircraft in the Army. He served in World War II and Iwojima. He earned the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with 3 bronze stars. He was discharged on November, 30, 1945. Mr. Donaldson was a member of Eastaboga Church of Christ. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to give a special thanks to Amedisys Homehealth and Alacare Hospice.
