Services for J.C. Clements, 81, of Piedmont, will be Monday, July 01, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Mr. Gary McCurdy and Mr. Stanley Pritchett officiating. Burial will follow at Littlejohn Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Monday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Clements passed away Friday, June 28, 2013, at his home. Survivors include his wife, Margie Mitchell; one son, Jay Clements, of Ft. Worth, Texas; two daughters, Cindy Gladney, of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Tanya Sexton, of Piedmont; seven grandchildren, Haley Sexton, Danielle Sexton, Matthew Clements, Kimberly Clements Noble, Gary Walker, Clay Walker and Corey Clements; five great-grandchildren and six sisters, Joan Wright, Faye Pritchett Duncan, Jeanette Clements, Shirley Robinson, Patricia Tucker and Nell Jo Battle; two brothers, Jack Clements and Jerry Clements. Pallbearers will be Rodney Marker, Brett Rickson, Eddie Patterson, Clay Walker, Gary Walker and Matthew Clements. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Thornburg, Ben Keller, Ray McMurray and LaWayne Goodwin. Mr. Clements was a resident of Piedmont most of his life. He was a member of Lebanon Church of Christ and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and was an avid outdoors man. He was preceded in death by his two infant children, Tony and Hershel Clements; son, Blake Clements; parents, Gorman and Beatrice Clements; two sisters, Betty Thornburg and Sue Sexton and a brother, Max Studdard.
