Anniston - Funeral services for James Howard Hall Sr., "Poon", 74, will be on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 1 pm at 17th Street Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. S. Richardson officiating. Mr. Hall remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his services. Visitation will be today from noon until 6 p.m. with Anniston Funeral Services in charge. Mr. Hall passed away on April 4, 2013 peacefully in his home. Mr. Hall graduated from Cobb High School, Alabama State University and obtained his Master's Degree at University of Buffalo. In Buffalo, he was employed at General Motors, Corp., and The City of Buffalo Board of Education as a teacher at East High School. While residing in Anniston, James served as Executive Director of Brownfield Institute Corp. and Vice President of CAP (Community Against Pollution). He was very active in the Anniston community, implementing many training and vocational programs. Survivors include his children, Therrell (Jeanette) Hall, of Decatur, Ga., Valarie Stewart Truss, of Anniston, Agnes Shawn Hall and James H. II (Robyn) Hall, of Winston Salem, N.C., Kimberly D. Hall, Qunicey M. Hall, of Buffalo, N.Y.; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Rev. Bobby Hall (Melvenia) Williamson, of Bessemer, Clarence Hall, Tommie Louise (Samuel) Harris, Frankie Mae (Ralph) Noel, all of Anniston; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cassandra (Teddy) Brown Hall; siblings, Robert Edward, Edythe White, William Clyde, Jr., Alfred William Grady, Fredrick Earl, Marvin Hall and Walter Hall.
