Anniston - Graveside services for Mr. Van Hamilton, 90, of Anniston, will be Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at Forestlawn Gardens with Reverend Hal Noble and Reverend Minnie Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from noon until 2 p.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. Mr. Hamilton passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013, after a brief illness. Mr. Hamilton was a long-time active member of First United Methodist Church of Anniston and was a World War II veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a former music educator and owner of Hamilton Band Instrument Company, which he founded in 1958. Mr. Hamilton is preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Van Haynes. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lila; daughters, Patsy Haynes and Cathy Hamilton, both of Anniston; grandchildren, Christy Boyd Krapp and her husband, Kevin, Joshua Hamilton Boyd and his wife, Catherine, Michael Haynes and his wife, Joy, Misty Haynes, and Michelle Haynes Duckett and her husband, Nick; and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Organ Restoration Fund of First United Methodist Church of Anniston, P.O. Box 1789, Anniston, AL 36207.
