Weaver - Funeral service for Wallace Hall, 86, will be Thursday, September 26, 2013, at 2 p.m. at West Weaver Baptist Church with the Revs. Donnie Sills and James Cohorn officiating. Burial will be in Rabbittown Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 12-2 p.m. Mr. Hall passed away peacefully at his Weaver home on September 23, 2013. His loving wife of 63 years was by his side when he succumbed to lung cancer after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Madrid Conaway Hall, of Weaver; three sons, Brian Hall and his wife, Leann, of Tyrone, Ga., Van Hall and his wife, Sherry, of Charlotte, N.C. and Don Hall and his wife, Taylor, of Pasadena, California; six grandchildren, Tyler, Chandler, Madison, Parker, Rosemary and Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jerry Harris, C.T. "Bud" Conaway, Billy Tyson, C.W. Flint, Jerry McGinnis and Lumus Dingler. Honorary pallbearers will be the Golden Oldies Sunday School Class. Except for his stint in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Mr. Hall spent his entire life in Calhoun County. He served as a Baptist deacon for over 50 years at West Weaver Baptist Church. Mr. Hall worked for APAC, a division of Ashland Oil, (formerly Hodges & Company) for over 30 years where he retired from his last working position as Safety Engineer. "Gramps", as he was known to his grandchildren, will be remembered as an affectionate, generous man of extraordinary integrity who was also a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Hall was a friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Verdie Murray Hall; and his brother, Curtis Hall.
