There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church at McClellan for Aileen Hall on April 25, 2014. There will be a time to visit with the family following the service. Eugenia Aileen Chapman Hall was born on Saturday, December 22, 1917, in Anniston, to Millard and Eugenia Graham Chapman. Growing up during the great depression, her parents were able to provide a comfortable life for her and her younger sister, Mildred. Aileen later recalled that the Chapman household was well known by migrant workers as a place they could always get a warm meal as they passed through town looking for work. When Aileen was 14 years old, she began spending time with an older boy who lived on their block. After five years of courtship, Aileen and Raymond Hall boarded a train to Birmingham, where they had secretly arranged to be married at her cousin's house on November 21, 1936. The newlyweds returned home to Anniston the following day to begin their new life together. It was here that they raised two beautiful children, Francis Gail Hall and Raymond Gerald Hall. Aileen would go on to have several successful careers, including Avon, a buyer for Kitchens department store, the owner of Porky Pig Restaurant and the manager of both Howard Johnson's and Britt's Coffee Shop. During her 96 years of life, Aileen brought happiness and joy to everyone she met with her kind and gentle nature. She is survived by her son, Jerry and wife Dianne; daughter Gail and husband Jim; four grandchildren, Anthony, Kevin, Chris and John; six great-grandchildren, Josh, Abby, Jordan, Andrew, Ella and Russell.
