The funeral service for Mr. Albert L. McDaniel Jr., 75, of Oxford, will be at Noon on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with Reverend Mike Irons officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Mr. McDaniel passed away on February 28, 2015 at NE Alabama Regional Medical Center. Mr. McDaniel attended Coldwater United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Oxford Quarterback Club, the Oxford Band Booster Club and a local bass fishing club. He had also retired from Alabama Power Company after 36 years. Mr. McDaniel is preceded in death by his parents, Albert L. McDaniel Sr. and Nellie P. McDaniel. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sara McDaniel, of Oxford; Sheila Smith, of Lynn Haven, Fla.; Scott McDaniel and his wife, Terri, of Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Andrew Smith, Danleigh McDaniel, Emory McDaniel and Devon Yarbrough; two great-grandchildren, Christian and Preston Smith; a sister, Martha Duke and her husband, Buddy, of Springville, Tenn. and two nephews, Jeff Duke and Jim Duke. Pallbearers will be Scott McDaniel, Joshua Smith, Andrew Smith, Lynn Smith, Austin Jenkins and Buddy Duke. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Morrow, Scotty Hollon, Charles Norton and Clark Gable.
