The funeral service for Mr. Albert Rudolph Jackson, 83, will be at 11 a.m. on today March 24, 2015 at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. The Rev. Benny Hamlin will be officiating. The family received friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. Mr. Jackson died on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Jackson is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Jackson Smith; two sons, Jerry (Pam) Jackson and David Jeffrey (Suzi) Jackson; nine grandchildren, Leigh (Brian) Turnbull, Wesley (Candice) Jackson, Jeremy (Alycia) Smith, Lyndsey (Gary) Wright, Samantha (Chad) Gilchrist, Julie Jackson, Jenna Jackson, Doug Bowns and Nick Bowns; 12 great grandchildren, Mackinzy, Bradyn, Braxton, Jackson, Asher, Anna, Hadley, Sarah, Hollyn, Harlie, Harper and Eliza; one brother, Benny (Shirley) Jackson; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Gidley; many loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Jackson attended Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving his country during the Korean War Era. He was a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Mr. Jackson loved fishing, camping, being outdoors and coaching Little League. He retired from Fort McClellan after working there for 28 years as an Offset Press Operator. Mr. Jackson will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Rollins Jackson; his son-in-law, Wayne Smith; one brother; four sisters.
