A memorial service for Albert Stanley Harrelson, 66, will be 1 p.m., Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Church of St. Michael and all Angels with the Rev. Fr. Chris Hartley officiating. Mr. Harrelson passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Mr. Harrelson is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathi, and their beloved black lab, Rascal; brother, Jack M. Harrelson; nephew, Aaron Harrelson; great-nieces and nephews, Peri, Emma and Adin Wills, Ireland, Maddy and Machaella Harrelson; sister-in-law Lucia Brinkley Mason. Mr. Harrelson is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Joyce Harrelson; grandparents, Seab and Lilly McCarver, Henry J. Harrelson and Mattie Harrelson Seagers; niece, Amy Harrelson Wills. Mr. Harrelson attended Birmingham City Schools and graduated from Erwin High School. He joined the U.S. Army 7th Calvary serving in Vietnam. He then married the love of his life, Katherine Brinkley in 1971. His interests were Alabama football, Braves baseball, fishing, Camp McDowell and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Michael and all Angels Church where he, in previous years, taught third - fifth grade Sunday school class. He was a member of the American Legion and was retired from Huron Valley Steel with over 25 years of service.
