Mr. Alexander Duncan McDowall, passed away on May 28, 2015, at Autumn Cove. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marion C. McDowall; daughter, Gail Kochie (David); grandsons, Andrew Kochie (Julie), Matthew Kochie(Christy); great- grandchildren, Grace and Lila Kochie. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Jamieson and Isabella Duncan McDowall; and a brother, John McDowall. Mr. McDowall was born in Paisley, Scotland on December 9, 1919. He moved and resided in Roebling, New Jersey in 1921. He was there until 2008. He was a World War II Veteran and was a member of the Willits-Hogan-Tonne American Legion Post 39 for 70 years. Mr. McDowall graduated from Rider College with an associate degree in accounting. He worked for Roebling Steel, CF & I Steel and for the State of New Jersey. He loved singing in church choirs and bowling. He loved spending time on the New Jersey coast with his wife and family. He put his friends and family before himself. He was till the end, a loving husband, devoted father and a friend to everyone. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
