Memorial service for Alfred Thomas Greene, 87, will be Monday, January 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Preston Taylor officiating. Mr. Greene passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at his home. Survivors include his wife, of 35 years, Bernice Greene; five children, Wayne (Evangeline), Anthony (Cheryl), Guy (Dr. Yveline), Gilbert (Liliana), and Gavin (Artheia); 13 grandchildren; twin brother, Albert; two sisters, Vermel and Gloria; a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Mr. Greene was born in Harlem, New York. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII in the Battle of Okinawa and he held a monorary doctors degree in business. He was a member of the Abercorn Lodge #86 King David Consitory #3 (33rd) and the Medina Temple #19 Shriners. He was owner and operator of Save Harlem Housing and many other businesses. Mr. Greene was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey; parents, Albert and Georgia Greene; and brother, Norval. thompsonfuneralhomepiedmont.com
