OXFORD - Memorial services for Mrs. Alice Joan Adams, 67, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home & Crematory with Dr. Jerry Cobb officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to services. Private graveside services will follow. Mrs. Adams is survived by her two sons, Dereek Adams and wife, Penny, of Indiana, Dustin Adams and domestic partner, Don Leggett, of Atlanta, Ga.; mother, Ruby Cobb, of Oxford; four brothers, Ed Cobb, Al Cobb, Jerry Cobb and Rod Cobb, two sisters; Charlotte Butterworth and Pam Traywick, all of Oxford; five grandchildren, Cameron and Shelby Adams, Tracy Hughes, Melissa Hughes Watts and Joshua Hughes; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Adams was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was a member at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and served as a nurse for Beverly Enterprises for over 20 years. She was known to many as "Fluff" and was loved by everyone that knew her. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Berry Cobb; grandparents, Vera and Ed Bonds and Missouri and Jot Cobb.
