Service for Rev. Allen Arnold Jr., 91, will be on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where the Rev. Roosevelt Parker is pastor and the Rev. Richard Fair, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in New Hope Church Cemetery. Rev. Arnold passed away on March 23, 2017. Rev. Arnold's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his service. Rev. Arnold graduated from Sterling High school in 1943 and he honorably served in the United States Army. He graduated from Laney Trade School in Oakland, Calif., obtained an Theology degree at Northern California Bible College and retired from the Anniston Army Depot in 1995. Reverend Arnold served as a pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church and Allen Temple Baptist Church in Oakland, Jerusalem Baptist Church in Palo Alto, Calif. and Hargrove Baptist Church in Munford. He retired from Southside Baptist Church in Talladega. He was an active member until his death at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Arnold; sons, Gregory Arnold (Vanessa), Jerry Flemming, Harry Gooden III (Benita) and James Wilder; daughters, Dorries Trammell (Willie), Cecelia A. Storey (Nathaniel), Harrilen Smith (Tyrone) and Edith Ratliff; son-in-law, Henry Ratliff; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
