Mrs. Pitts was born and raised in Anniston and lead a long, joyous life. The two great loves of her life were the Lord and her family. Alma met the great love of her life, Roy Pitts while working at Alabama Pipe Company. They married in 1944 and were married for fifty-nine years until Roy's passing in 2003. Their marriage rooted in Christ and unconditional love for each other was an inspiration to all who knew them. "Lulu" was the adoring title given to Mrs. Pitts by her nieces and nephews, and their children. She truly loved them as if they were her own and spent countless vacations, birthdays, holidays and graduations showering love on her extended children. Mrs. Pitts has left them with an example of a life well lived and the most wonderful memories to cherish for a lifetime. Mrs. Pitts was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, aunt and friend who brought joy into the lives of each person she touched. Though Mrs. Pitts' family mourns her death, there is such peace knowing she has been reunited with her husband for all of eternity. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Pitts; her parents, Samuel L. Taylor and Maggie McKleroy Taylor; her brother, Harvey Samuel Taylor; her sister, Flo Ann Ford. The eldest of five children, she is survived by three siblings, Frances Waits, John (Corinne) Taylor, and Aaron (Ann) Taylor. Pallbearers will be her nephews, David Hill, Dr. Tom Nolen, Jeff Smith, Ray Waits, Charlie Waits and Dr. Joshua Waits. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Lakeview Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3281, Oxford, AL 36203.
