Funeral service for Amanda Brooks, 77, will be on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Little Jerusalem A.F.M. Church of God, Inc. with Bishop James Truss Sr., officiating. Burial in New Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Brooks remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her services. Mrs. Brooks passed away on May 4, 2014, at Citizens Baptist Medical Center, Talladega. Survivors include her daughters, Angela (Phillip) Cushon, of Waterbury, Conn., April Brooks of Bristol, Conn; sons, Lafayette (Sophie) Elston Texas, Rodney Brooks, Leroy Brooks Jr., both of Lincoln; siblings, Gloria Evans, Melvin (Dollie Ann) Matthews, all of Eastaboga, Mattie (Stanwyck) Cromwell, of Bloomfield, Conn.,Willie Orr, of Powder Springs, Ga., Minister Calotta (Elder Samuel) Davis, of Franklinton, N.C.; 28 grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
