Funeral service for Ann Johnson, 93, of Oxford was held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home and Crematory. The family received friends from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial followed in the Anniston Memorial Gardens cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was born on July 13, 1921 in Clay County to Jim and Lessie Mitchell Parker. She married J.C. Johnson Dec 20, 1950. Mrs. Johnson was an active member of Wayside Baptist Church for many years and then to Twenty Second Street. The Johnson s relocated to Memphis Tenn. in 1974 and returned to the Eulaton area in 1992. Mrs Johnson was an active member of the Eulaton Baptist Church and also volunteered at the local elementary School. After moving to The Oxford House, Mrs Johnson made Meadowbrook her home church. Mrs. Johnson has resided at NHC Nursing Facility since 2010 where she continued to attend and enjoy worship and singing services there. She was preceded in death my her husband, J.C. Johnson; her grandson, Brandon Cleveland Johnson (B.J.); her mother, Lessie Parker; her sisters, Jackie Carter, Penney Dunston, Marie Downs, Jimmie Wood, and Mavis Napp. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Dr. Glenn C. Johnson and Cindy Johnson, of Clarksville Tenn; her daughter and son in law Regina and Jeffrey Janes, of Dallas Texas; her grandchildren, Chad and James Fleming, of Dallas Texas; and Krissie Johnson Binkley, of Clarksville Tenn.; her great-grandsons, Noah Porter and Brandon Elijah (Eli) Binkley; she was "Aunt Ann" to Marty and Saundra Carter, Mike and Melissa Carter, Randy Carter, Wayne (Mitch) Dunston, Beverly Wood, Brenda and Thomas Phillips, Brenda and Glenn Steel , Glenda and Lonnie Barnett; she is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.
