A visitation for Annette Minshew Perkins, 85, will be from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at K. L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. A private burial will follow on Monday at Forestlawn Gardens. Mrs. Perkins passed away on March 27, 2014, at NHC Place in Anniston. She grew up in Oxford, and graduated from Oxford High School. She attended the University of Alabama where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She was an avid supporter of education and the arts in the Anniston area, including the Episcopal Day School, The Donoho School, the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, the Knox Concert Series and the Anniston Museum of Natural History. She was a member of numerous social organizations, and especially enjoyed reading, movies and lunching with friends. Above all, she lived a life of dedication to her family. Mrs. Perkins is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Snowden Perkins Jr.; her parents, Weldon Clyde and Velma White Minshew and her brother, Gerald Clyde Minshew. She is survived by her sister, Logene Griffin, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; her four children, Henry Perkins and wife, Paula, of Pensacola, Fla., Collie Dickinson and husband, Charles, of Anniston, Gena Jackson and husband, Andrew, of Point Clear, Ala. and Windy Perkins, of Sedona, Ariz.; grandchildren, Drew Jackson and wife, Sara, of Madison, Miss. and Ginny Perkins, of Charleston, S.C.; three great-grandchildren, Anna Gray, Wells and Evan Jackson.
