Funeral service for Mrs. Annie Louise Bell Stone, 94, will be held Friday, August 19, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Clay County Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Randall, the Rev. Rusty Craig and the Rev. Susan Burgess-Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Clay County Memory Gardens. Mrs. Stone passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. She was born in the Shady Grove community of Clay County and was a graduate of Bibb Graves High School. She was the loving wife of James Stone for 61 years. She was a devoted homemaker all of her life. She loved cooking, sewing and reading. She had been a member of First Baptist Church in Ashland since 1974, where she was also a member of the Joy Sunday school class. Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband, James Guyton Stone; parents, Archibald S. and Annis Chandler Bell; sister, Ruby Bell (Truman) Burgess, and two brothers, John Wesley (Annie Mae) Bell and William Thomas (Mary Jo) Bell. She is survived by her niece, the Rev. Susan Burgess-Parrish and her husband, Rodney, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews in Mr. Stone's family. Memorials may be made to the James G. and Louise B. Stone Memorial Fund, The Baptist Foundation of Alabama, PO Box 241227, Montgomery, AL 36124. Clay County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
