Archie Dee Parker, 80, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at his daughter's residence. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, October 24, 2014, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Buford Gaines officiating. Burial will follow in Edwardsville City Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 5-7 p.m. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include daughter, Dee Ann Parker, of Edwardsville; grandson, Tommy Ray (Crystal) Smith, of Fruithurst; sister, Ruth Clyde Buchanan, of Delta; sister, Mildred Faye Breedlove, of Delta; brother, Henry David Parker, of Gary, Ind.; great grand child, Addison Jean Smith; care giver, Pat Munroe. Pallbearers will Be Masons. Mr. Parker was a native and life long resident of Cleburne County, he was a member of Abel Baptist Church,as well as Caldwell Masonic Lodge #502 and the former Mayor of Edwardsville. Archie was an ordained Minister who pastored several churches over the past 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shelvy Jean Parker; daughter, Wanda Jean Smith; parents, Oscar and Louetta Parker; great nieces, Regina Dingler and Melinda Kilgore.
