Ariel LaRay Campbell, 19, of Bowdon, tragically passed away due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. She was born April 10, 1996 in Anniston, Alabama to Monica Stapler Wright and Billy Wayne Campbell. She was a 2015 Bowdon High School graduate and was a full-time student at West Georgia Technical College. She was a member of Iron City Baptist Church in Anniston, Alabama but attended Roopville Road Baptist Church in Carrollton. She is preceded in death by her fiancé, Joel "Alex" McLeroy, of Carrollton; paternal grandfather, Donald R. Stapler; grandfather, James L. Brooks; great-grandmother, Lorene Green and Willie B. Stapler; great-great-grandmother, Ester D. White; a cousin, Dawson Stapler. Survivors include her mother, Monica Stapler Wright, of Bowdon; father, Billy Wayne Campbell, of Florida; sisters, Brooklyn Farmer, of Bowdon and Chloe Campbell, of Florida; brothers, Jarrett Anderson, of Bowdon and Chase Campbell, of Heflin; grandparents, Susan Brooks and Roy Wingo, of Bowdon and Lois and Wayne Campbell, of Heflin, Randy and Davine Miller, of Alabama; great-grandmother, Frances Turley, of Alabama and Jane Caldwell, of Bowdon; aunts and uncles, Tracy Miller (Chris), of Heflin and Krissy Brooks, Jacob Brooks and Landon Brooks and DeWayne Stapler, all of Bowdon; great uncles, Scott Caldwell (Brandi), of Palm Coast, Fla., William Landers, of Alabama, and Joe Green, of Alabama; nephew, Clayton Bryant; and cousins, Hudson Miller, Jackson Miller and Braxton Whisenhunt. Funeral service was conducted Sunday, January 3, 2016, at 2 p.m. from Roopville Road Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Peeples, the Rev. Kelly Runels and the Rev. Michael White officiating. The body was placed in the church on Sunday at 1 p.m. Interment followed in Forrest Lawn Memorial Park. Those serving as pallbearers will be Chris Miller, DeWayne Stapler, Jonathan Whisenhunt, David Hall, Jake Bryant, Scott Caldwell, Chris Farmer and Benjamin Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bowdon High School Class of 2015, Chase Campbell, Jarrett Anderson, Hudson Miller, Jackson Miller and Clayton Bryant. Visitation was held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the church from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and resuming from 5 p.m. until p.m. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com.
