Funeral service for Barbara Jean Scott, 64, will be Saturday, April 26, 2014, at noon at the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in Gadsden with Pastor Eugene Herron officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Scott remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her services. A wake will be this evening 6 - 8 at Cornerstone Church. Mrs. Scott passed away on April 22, 2014 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Scott was a 1968 graduate from Gadsden High School and attended Gadsden State Community College. She retired from Job Corps of America and was a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include her mother, Rosie Mae Loftis; daughter, Keena (Lee Roy) Cohill, of Birmingham; son, John O Dukes, Jr., of Gadsden; grandchildren, Malania (Nathaniel) Wesley, Tranecia Cohill, John T. Sewell, all of Birmingham, Damaja Adair, Tytiania and Delrico Dukes, all of Gadsden, Tyana and Marco Dukes of New York, N.Y.; great-grandchildren, Nayla Wesley, Nyliegh and Amajah Adair, James Sewell Jr.; siblings, Geraldine Lacy, of Dallas, Texas, Teresa Bishop, Michael (Mary) Loftis, all of Birmingham and Kenneth (Gloria) Loftis, of Gadsden; other relatives and friends.
