Funeral service for Mrs. Barbara Joan (Robertson) Russell, 77, of Anniston, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with the Rev. Roland Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until service. Mrs. Russell passed away February 6, 2014 at NHC. Survivors include her son, Joel Russell; her daughter, Jana Celest Russell Hauseman; two grandsons, Jordan Paul Russell and Grant Russell Johnson; two brothers, Dewy Robertson (Nancy) and their children, Gena Robertson and Rodney Robertson, Donald Robertson (Fay) and their children, Allen Robertson and Danielle Robertson and three sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Lipham and her son, Rusty Lipham; sister, Wendy Lipham Boyd, Mary Nell Russell and son, Scott Russell and sister, Stacy Russell Mallet and Mickey Russell and son, Steve Russell and sister, Donna Russell Phillips. Mrs. Russell is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joe Henry Russell; her parent, Ester Robertson and two brothers, Rodney Robertson and Steve Robertson. Honorary Pallbearers will be her graduating class of Oxford High School and members of Golden Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Russell was a resident of Anniston and a 1955 graduate of Oxford High School. She was a mother and a housewife. Mrs. Russell worked for many years at Hudson's Department Store where she made many friends. She loved her family and everyone, she will be missed. Mrs. Russell and her family traveled across the US several times including driving to Alaska and Canada. Mrs. Russell also made two trips to England which she enjoyed very much. She was a charter member of Golden Springs Baptist Church. Reception will follow at Golden Springs Baptist church.
