Funeral service for Mr. Benjamin Franklin "Frank", "Uncle Buddy" Dean will be 1 p.m. Wednesday July 22, 2015, at Miller Funeral Home with Richard O'Connor and Mike Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at Northeast Napoleon Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Dean passed away Sunday July 19, 2015, at his residence. Survivors include his son, James Leon Dean (Suzanne); daughter, Dianne Elaine Dean Holcomb; granddaughter, Tiffany P. Holcomb. Pallbearers will be Emmett Cofield, Leon Dean, Michael Dean, Chris Dean, Rod Dean, Ron Dean. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Haynes and Joe Thompson. Mr. Dean was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Pauline Wilson Dean; his parents, Leon and Eva Harris Dean. Mr. Dean was born in Albertville, Ala. on May 10, 1930 as one of 10 children. He graduated high school in 1949 and went on to receive an accounting degree. On June 8, 1952 he married Pauline "Polly" Wilson. He was baptized at Central Church of Christ in Birmingham, Ala. Mr. Dean worked as an accountant for Bama Hardware Stores. In February of 1966 he moved to Jackson, Miss. and established Frank Dean and Associates. He served as deacon at Meadowbrook Church of Christ in Jackson, Miss., for 16 years and taught classes for 12 years and organized the first zone program at Meadowbrook after taking a course at Harding University and served as an interim youth minister for 2 years. In 1972 he founded Jackson Christian Academy and served as president until 1981. He was an elder at Fort Walton Beach Church of Christ from 1991 to 1998 and presently a member of Saks Church of Christ.
