Funeral service for Bennie B. Johnson, 67, will be Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel, in Jacksonville, with the Rev. Bob McLeod officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6-8. Mr. Johnson died Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Gadsden RMC. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Parris Johnson; his daughter, April (Chris) Johnson; his son, Jason (Bonnie) Johnson; four grandchildren, Brooke, Brianna, Bethany and Noah Johnson; two sisters, Dianne (Norman) Chaviers and Debra (Joe) Glover; two brothers, Earl (Glenda) Johnson and Steve Johnson; a sister-in-law, Rosie Johnson, as well as, Sue (Arnold) Johnson, Wendell Parris, Rita Parris and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Eric Chaviers, Chad, Regan, Tyler, Nathan and Patrick Johnson. Mr. Johnson was retired from the Anniston Army Depot after working there as a welder for 28 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era and was devoted to his country. Mr. Johnson was a devoted husband, loving father and super Paw Paw. He was a friend to everyone he met, always available to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Mr. Johnson will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvel and Gladys Holder Johnson; one brother, Johnny Johnson and his brother-in-law, Jim Parris.
