Funeral service for Bertrice "Bea" McGathy Brown, 82, will be Thursday, July 28, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Watts and the Rev. Larry McGathy officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Piedmont. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until service time. Ms. Brown died on Sunday, July 23, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Survivors include her daughter, Kay Burdette; grandsons, Cory Burdette (Whittney) and Clayton Brown; granddaughter, Kari Davis (Aaron); great-grandchildren, Hannah, Chloe, Ellia, Caleb and Seth Davis; sisters, Joyce Walker and Edith Garmany, and brother, Larry McGathy (Sue). She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Lola Mc Gathy; brother, Kirby McGathy; sister, Judi Page; son, Grant Brown, and grandson, Jesse Burdette. Pallbearers will be Cory Burdette, Aaron Davis, Clayton Brown, Vann Walker, Brian Brasher, Mack Fair and Justin Ogden. Bea was loved her family and loved the Lord. She was a beloved member of Jacksonville Congregational Holiness Church and the community. She had a beautiful voice she used to sing and witness to many. Singing with her family was very important to her. Bea was the matriarch of the family and adored her loved ones.
