Funeral service for Mrs. Betty H. McArthur, 74, will be Sunday, October 23, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville with Dr. Derek Staples officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday. Mrs. McArthur entered into her eternal peace on Thursday, October 20, 2016. She is survived by her husband, Norman James McArthur; her son, David (Brenda) McArthur; her daughter, Deborah (Jay) McElroy; two grandchildren, Caleb and Katelynn McElroy; two sisters, Judy (Larry) Sexton and Joyce (Steve) McElroy; two sisters-in-law, Kathy McArthur and Jane Howell; two aunts, Madrid Hall and Jean Crest; and one uncle, Carey Conaway. Mrs. McArthur was born to the late Marvin Howell and Margaret Conaway Howell on June 25, 1942. Family was Mrs. McArthur's love and joy and after a 23 year teaching career at Kitty Stone Elementary, she devoted her time, energy and affection to her family. Mrs. McArthur was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. She loved her family and she loved the Lord Jesus Christ, in whose arms she now rests. Mrs. McArthur was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Howell. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
