Memorial service for Betty Ruth King White, 89, will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday July 29, 2015, at Anniston First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Peter Hawker and the Rev. Amy DeWitt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Narthex of the Sanctuary. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Mrs. White died Sunday July 26, 2015, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Felix White; a brother, J. Fred King; a sister, Helene King Hinton. Mrs. White is survived by one son, John Felix White Jr. (Linda), of Anniston; two daughters, Ruth White Lumpkin (Mark), of Jacksonville and Cathy White Pitts (Dan), of Anniston, Alabama; grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Lumpkin, Sarah Catherine Lumpkin, David William Pitts and Stephen Dan Pitts; nieces and nephews. Mrs. White was a native of Attalla, Ala. and lived in Anniston most of her life. She was a long time member of Anniston First United Methodist Church. Mrs. White was a member of the United Methodist Women and taught Jr. and Sr. High Sunday School. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the Anniston Soup Bowl. She was a member of the Tuesday Sewing Club and the Chautauqua Study Club of Anniston. Pallbearers will be David Pitts, Stephen Pitts, Sam White, Landon Shirey, Franklin Bachrach and Vernon Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Carre' Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Big Oak Boys and Girls Ranches, 5265 Jake Mintz Road, Southside, AL 35907; or to Anniston First United Methodist Church Camp Lee Chapel Building Fund, P.O.
