Betty Sorter Reaves, 90, passed quietly away Saturday June 4, 2016, at Mountain View Personal Care Home, Decatur, Georgia. She was born September 17, 1925 in Guntersville, and was the daughter of the late James A. and Ruth Sorter. Betty is survived by son, James (Jim) Reaves, of Clayton, Ga.; daughter, Dinah Reaves Wells, of Murrell's Inlet, S.C.; grandchildren, Brandy Lee Reaves, Benjamin O'Donald Reaves, Ryon O. Wells and Jeanna Wells Johnson; great-grandchildren, Ashley Johnson and Erica Johnson. Mrs. Reaves was a 60 year resident of Anniston, and had a long and decorated career with the U.S. Department of the Army, at Fort McClellan during WWII, and later at Anniston Army Depot. She was a time study and efficiency expert that worked to set procedural and operational standards for the Army worldwide, retiring in 1980. The family will receive friends at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home, 3705 Highway 78 West, Snellville, GA, on Friday June 10, 2016, from 2-3 p.m. with service to immediately follow. Condolences may be sent or viewed at Tom M.
