Bettye McEachern Linster passed away Saturday evening at the age of 83. She was a member of Edgewood Methodist Church in Anniston. She attended Phillips High School in Birmingham and was a member of the class of 1951. She attended college at Auburn University and the University of Alabama. Her professional career included being an Administrative assistant and various accounting positions. She was an avid College football fan. She loved to read, travel and entertaining. She loved hosting parties for her family, friends and Church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Maxine McEachern. She is survived by her son, Ric Linster and his wife, Ann; her sister, Marlyn Harris (Hoyt), of Huntsville. She was loved by her step-grandchildren, Zane Shaffer, of Anniston, Miranda Goble, of Alexandria and Bridgett Shaffer, of Jacksonville. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel with the family receiving friends one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Snow will officiate.
