Oxford - Funeral services for Bewel Adcock, 85, of Oxford, Ala. will be on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. Dr. C.O. Grinstead and The Rev. Jerry Johnston will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Adcock died on Saturday at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his wife of 66 1/2 years, Imogene Adcock; son, Ronnie Adcock and his wife, Rita; daughter, Deana Hughes and her husband, Scott; sister, Opal Elsberry; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Russell Korn, Ken Vickers, Ken Eaton, Lewis Mewborn, Don Golden and Jim Yeager. Honorary pallbearers will be The Senior Saint's of Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Adcock was a resident of Oxford for the past 55 years. He was retired from Fort McClellan as a maintenance Supervisor. He was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Adcock served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed on the U.S.S. Griffin.
