Funeral service for Bill Thompson, 72, of Lincoln, was held Sunday 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home with Burial at Pine Hill Memorial Park. The Rev. Brandon Lazarra officiating. Friends from 12:30 p.m. He is preceded in death by two daughters, Kelly Thompson Ponder and Megan Leigh Thompson. He was a member of Lincoln United Methodist Church, served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959 until 1963, received his B.S. in Business from The University of Alabama in 1967 and in 1970 received his Law degree from The University of Alabama. He practiced Law in Talladega from 1970 until 2014. Member of the Talladega Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his son, Mark Thompson and wife, Ling; two grandchildren, Alexis B. Ponder and Joseph T. Ponder; three brothers, Charles Ridgeway and wife, Dorothy, Bob Thompson and wife, Annette and Harvey Thompson and wife, Joanne; three sisters, Kathy Long and husband, Robert, Irene Arledge and Mary Alford and husband, Roy. Pallbearers will be Robert Long, Paul Baker, Dr. Brett Jeffrey, Wayne Mitchell, Chuck Woodard, and Mike Grubbs. Usrey Funeral home Talladega will direct services. Online condolences can be made to
