Anniston - Funeral services for Billie "Billie Bam" Eugene Elder, 63, will be on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 3:30 p.m. at Smith Metropolitan AME Zion Church with the Rev. Jeffrey C. Williams, pastor, and the Rev. William Foster officiating. Mr. Elder remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his services. Mr. Elder passed away on October 3, 2013. Mr. Elder was a member of the Class of 1967 Cobb Ave High School. He was a member of Peace and Goodwill Baptist Church. Survivors include his sons, Billy (Felicia) Smith, Brian Ray, all of Anniston; daughters, Robie Barclay, of Anniston, and Amber (Dean) Youngblut, of Jessup, Iowa; his companion, Kathy Simmons; stepchildren, Tederra Simmons, Tamisha (Rakeem) Carr and Trenaris Simmons all of Anniston; siblings, Robert "Lee" Elder, of Anniston, Ocie E. Elder, Torra Y. Elder, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Sonya R. Elder, of Panama City, Fla.; eighteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; aunts, uncle, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Robert and Bessie Elder; brother, Clarence G. Elder and aunt, Emma Goodson.
