Funeral service for Mr. Billy E. Timmons, 84, will be at noon on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with Bro. Clay Stephens officiating. Entombment will follow at Forestlawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Timmons passed away on September 8, 2015 at his home. Mr. Timmons served in the U.S. Navy aboard the naval carrier USS Essex in the Korean War and earned several battle stars. He worked for over 29 years at Monsanto and retired in 1993. He was also a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Timmons is preceded in death by his parents, William E. Timmons and Helen Brooks Timmons and a sister, Margaret Timmons. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce H. Timmons, of Anniston and his sons, Keith L. Timmons and his wife, Donna, of Oxford and David L. Timmons and his wife, Gwen, of Oviedo, Florida. He is also survived by two granddaughters. He was called Paw-Paw by Jennifer and Pop-Pop by Emily; an aunt, Ruth Oswalt, of Coldwater and numerous cousins also survive him. Pallbearers will be Jason Bloodworth, Randy Fortune, Dwain Hamby, Darren Hamby, Scott Edmondson and Nicholas Edmondson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Monsanto Retirees.
