Billy James Driver, 71, of Five Points, Alabama left this mortal world to go to the greatest fishing spot ever on April 7, 2014. He was born in Randolph County Alabama on August 2, 1942, to the late Garfield and Ora Butler Driver. He has resided in Randolph County Alabama, Hogansville, Georgia, Franklin, Ga., Carrollton, Ga. and Delta, Ala. until settling down in Five Points, Ala. for the remainder of his years. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tealie Jane Driver, age 6; four brothers, Buck Driver of Hogansville , Harlis Driver of Hogansville, Bobby Driver of Hogansville and Roger Driver of Five Points, Ala. and one son in law Donny Shelnutt of Franklin, Ga. Billy is survived by his wife, Gini Fran Britt Driver, of Five Points, Ala.; three daughters, Tammy Driver Shelnutt of Franklin, Ga., Dottie Driver, of Wetumpka, Ala. and Lutrica Driver of Five Points, Ala. two brothers, Jimmy Driver, of LaGrange, Ga. and Larry Driver of Mobile, Ala. Billy was blessed in his lifetime with five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews from the Butler, Driver, Britt and Folds families, as well as great nieces and nephews. During his life Billy touched many lives in many ways and he will be missed by all. He was a wonderful husband, caring Daddy and loving grandfather. His passing leaves a very large hole in his family's heart that can never be filled but his memory will always live on with the joy, as his family shares his story to each generation to come. The greatest joy for everyone who knows him is he is reunited with his beloved fishing buddies and daughter Tealie Jane and Donny Shelnutt. Services are being handled by McCarthy Funeral Home, West Point, Ga. The family greeted friends Tuesday April 8, 2014, from 6 p.m. 8 p.m. EDT. The services will be held from the graveside at Community Bible Church, formerly New Lebanon Baptist Church in Lowell, Ga. on Wednesday April 9, 2014, at 3 p.m. RDT.
