Funeral service for Mr. Billy Ray Peace, 78, of Talladega will be Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Huggins and the Rev. Lamar Denkins officiating with burial following at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 p.m. until service time at the Funeral Home. Mr. Peace passed away July 30, at Citizens Hospital in Talladega. Mr. Peace is survived by his wife, Emma Jean Peace; sons, Garry R. Peace and Dennis W. Peace; sisters, Mary Alice Newman, Pat Griffin, and Helen Usrey; brothers, Benny Frank Yancey and Sam Yancey; grandchildren, Dennis Peace Jr., and Corey Peace; and great-grandchildren, Jason Peace, Samuel Peace, and Alyssa Peace.Mr. Peace was preceded in death by his father, Adrick Peace; mother, Grace Peace Yancey; brothers, Charles Peace, Orlander Peace, and Boris Peace. Mr. Peace was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County. He served in the U.S. Navy for 27 years before retiring, he was an Anniston Police Officer for 10 years before being hired with the ABC board where he was employed for 25 years before retiring. Mr. Peace was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church, he attended Alexandria High School and JSU. Condolences may be left at www.chapelhillfh.com
