Mr. Bobby Adolph Pierce, 81, died Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Wesley Manor Retirement Center. Memorial service will be held 10 a.m. on Monday, July 4, 2016, at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Piedmont, with Father James Macey officiating. Interment will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Monday, July 4, 2016, at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honor, may be made to St. Joachim Catholic Church, 308 7th Street, NE, Jacksonville, AL 36265. Bobby was born in Cherokee County, Ala., a son of the late Herman and Leona Estelle Law Pierce. He was a graduate of Cherokee County High School and was in the top two percent of his class. He worked as the manager of Elliot Motor Company and with Elliot Insurance Company for 30 years prior to his retirement. He served his country in the U.S. Army and is a member of the St. Joachim Catholic Church in Piedmont. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hanne-Lore Elizabeth Fauter Pierce; a son, Bobby Joseph Pierce; a daughter, Carmen Bishop; two brothers, Wayne Pierce and Coy Pierce; an infant sister, Yvonne, and an infant great- grandson, Braylon Ray. Surviving are two daughters, Karen (Jimmy) Freeman, of Dothan, and Monica (Ronnie) Pierce Thacker, of Centre; three brothers, Hayward Pierce, Travis Pierce and Billy Ray Pierce, all of Centre; a sister, Tera Menzies, of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Martin Willis Bishop, Jai Quincy Freeman, Jessica Thacker Hindman and Emy Thacker Ray, and nine great-grandchildren.
