Bobby L. Barnes, 83, passed away Wednesday, October 08, 2014. He was born January 29, 1931 in Gadsden to the late Charles David Barnes and Neva Reeves Barnes. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked for BellSouth Telecommunications for thirty years and was a member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Anniston. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Luther Boyce Barnes. Survivors include his loving wife, Mary E. Williams Barnes, of Carrollton; his children, James David and Sheryl Barnes, of Lawrenceville, Gena Barnes, of Douglasville and Andrea Jo and Tony Allen, of Winston; sister, Brenda and Melvin Huff, of Fredericksburg, Va.; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be conducted Friday, October 10, 2014, at 2 p.m. from Mozley Memorial Gardens with Dr. Mack Amis officiating. Pallbearers will be Eric Chappell, Harlan Tuggle, Rob Tharp, Tony Allen, Ken Huff and Kevin Huff. The family will receive friends today, October 09, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.
