Funeral service for Mr. Bobby Neil Johnson, 84, will be Friday, December 4, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Williams. The Rev. Chris Thomas and the Rev. Michael Duncan will be officiating. Burial will be in Williams Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church this evening from 5 - 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Mr. Johnson died on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Gadsden RMC. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Green Johnson, of Jacksonville; his daughter, Laura Johnson Allen, of Huntsville; his son, Bobby Neil Johnson II and his wife Kristin, of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Lauren, Lindsey and Logan Johnson, all of Jacksonville; his sister, Loyce A. Bearden, of Albertville; his brother, Gerald K. Johnson and his wife, Mae, of Baton Rouge, La.; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Johnson, of Opelika and many special nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be members of the family. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacon's Bench at E.L. Green's Store. Mr. Johnson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Williams. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and Pa-paw. Family meant everything to him and he had a special place in the hearts of those who loved him most. Mr. Johnson loved Alabama football, collecting coins of all kinds, traveling and playing cards. Mr. Johnson impacted many children's lives during his teaching career. He taught school throughout the Calhoun, St. Clair and Marshall Counties, finally retiring from Anniston High School. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Hilry Theo and Ruthie Jane Shirley Johnson; two sisters, Louise McDuffie and Hazel Colvin and three brothers, Barney, Coy and Wendell Johnson. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Williams Building Fund, 5579 Nisbet Lake Road, Jacksonville, AL 36265. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Amedysis Home Health of Calhoun County, the staff of Gadsden RMC, including a special thanks to the ICU Department and the staff of the 8th floor. Their devoted care and concern allowed precious time and memories with Mr. Johnson that will be held dear to the family's hearts. Online condolences to the family at K.L.
