Funeral service for Bruce L. Key " V. W. King", 83, of will be Friday October 9, 2015, 2 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. Dr. Rodney Gilmore will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday 5- 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Key passed away on Sunday at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Key-Harper (Deryk), Darlene Key Smith (Steve); son, Bruce John Amos Key; grandchildren, William Bruce Smith and Harrison Rollins Smith; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tim Smith, Norman Cole, Dwight Maxwell, Gerald Maxwell, Jeff Key, Brett Key and Jason Lett. Mr. Key was a long time resident of Oxford. He retired from Ft. McClellan. Mr. Key was the longtime owner of Bruce L Key Motors Volkswagen Business for over 60 years. Mr. Key served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rena Key. Mr. Key loved his family dearly, the Oxford community and his Volkswagen. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to a scholarship fund in honor of Mr. Bruce L. Key. The scholarship will go to a graduating senior from Oxford High School.
