Funeral service for Bruce Lynwood Baker, 81, will be Wednesday, June 28, 2017, 12 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. Dr. Roland Brown will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Baker passed away on Sunday at Sunrise Assisted Living Center. Survivors include his son, Gregory Bruce Baker (Joan); daughter, Ginger Lee Giles (Kent); grandchildren, Joshua Giles, Bryant Giles, Heather Giles, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Baker was a native Roanoke and a resident of Oxford. He was retired from Alabama Power Company with 32 years of service. Mr. Baker was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He attended Golden Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Arthur and Era Lashley Baker; wife, Kathleen Brown Baker; brothers, Arthur Baker Jr, Ledford Baker, Charles Baker and a sister, Virginia Loveday.
