A Celebration of Life service for Byron Pierce, 54, will be Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the Center of Hope, 2906 Bynum-Leatherwood Road, Anniston, AL 36201 with the Rev. Gary Burns and Gene Hicks officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Center of Hope. Mr. Pierce died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at his residence. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Mark Brown) Pierce, of Oxford; one son, Byron Dirk Pierce II, of Anniston; two grandchildren, Ryleigh Pierce and Micah Brown, both of Oxford; five sisters, Vicki Humphreys, of Panama City, Fla., Tonya (Kevin) Stephens, of Oxford, Cindy (Gene) Belcher, of Mt. Olive, Cheryl Pierce, of Anniston and Tamala (Daniel) Norton, of Oxford; four brothers, Alan (Sandy) Pierce, of Saks, Chuck (Beth) Pierce, of Mt. Olive, Mitch (Joelle) Pierce, of Panama City, Fla. and Dustin Pierce, of Anniston; numerous nieces and nephews; his caregiver and very special friend, Shannon Wheeles, of Anniston; his mother-in-law, Ann Clayburn; the mother of his children, Venessa Thomas, of Anniston and his step-mother, Bobbie Pierce, of Anniston. Mr. Pierce was a loving and devoted father, brother and grandfather. He deeply cared for his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Mr. Pierce was a skilled painter and will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Simon Pierce Sr. and Helen Vidalia Smith Cagle and two sisters, Kim Matter and Simone Pierce. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Joel W.
