Funeral service for Calvin Ray Estes, 78, of Uniontown, Ala. will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Andy Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Estes passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015 at his sisters' home in Alexandria. Survivors include his wife, Penny Estes, of Uniontown; children, Dalton Estes, of Memphis, Terry (Darlene) Estes, of Saks, and Pamela Paschal, of Alexandria; step-children, Bobby Vanemmenis, of South Africa and Stephanie Vanemmenis, of Hawaii; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris (Harry) Bonds, Kathy McNeely, Sylvia (Art) Hilliker and Karon (David) Lambert; step-sister, Bobbie Ridley; brothers, Gerald (Elaine) Estes, Ronnie (Susan) Estes; step-brother, Roger Garner; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Estes is preceded in death by his father, Dalton Estes; mother, Willie Estes Garner; step-father, Elvyn Garner; grandchild, Amanda Estes and great-grandchild, Joey Scott. Pallbearers will be Art Hilliker, Jesse Lambert, Mike Smith, Timothy Erwin, Carel Turner and Ronnie Estes. Mr. Estes proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years and two tours in Vietnam.
